Mark Prentice

Founder & President

Mark has served as a senior advisor and strategist for public figures, elected officials, winning candidates, philanthropists, non-profit leaders, and private sector innovators. For over 15 years, Mark has developed and delivered communications and public affairs strategies on complex policy and business issues, and helped drive change.

Prior to founding the firm in 2020, Mark was the Communications Director for the Mayor of Seattle. In that role, he advised the Mayor on key policy issues and overall external and internal communications for the Mayor and City of Seattle, including 36 City departments and nearly 12,000 employees.

Mark was also a communications advisor to the late Paul G. Allen, a philanthropist and cofounder of Microsoft.

In Washington, D.C., Mark was the Communications Director for former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, retired NASA astronaut and Navy combat veteran Mark Kelly (USN, Ret.) - now a United States Senator from Arizona - at their national gun safety organization Giffords Courage (formerly Americans for Responsible Solutions).

His public service includes serving in the United States House of Representatives as the Press Secretary and Speechwriter for Congresswoman Nita Lowey (NY-17) while she served as the top-ranking Democrat on the House Appropriations Committee.

Mark is a veteran of winning Democratic campaigns in the Pacific Northwest and American Southwest. He began his career working at communications and advocacy firms in Seattle and Washington, D.C.

Born, raised, and educated in Washington State, Mark's roots in the Pacific Northwest go back three generations; one side hails from the orchards of the Yakima Valley, the other from the mossy woods of the Cascade foothills.

A slow runner, average guitar player, and mostly passable home cook, Mark lives in Seattle’s Phinney Ridge neighborhood with his partner, May.
